How do I add my ticker to my website?
If you are using a website or page builder (such as Front Page or Dreamweaver), look for a 'View Source' or 'Edit' button. If you can't find it, please check your manual or website builder FAQ on how to edit the HTML. All websites should use the HTML code and so simply cut and paste the HTML code given to you where you want your ticker to appear on your website.
Some free websites only allow you to use their builder, rather than directly editing the HTML. If that is the case, please ask your website provider how to insert an image.

How do I add my ticker to my forum signature?
Which code you use depends on the website, but how you add them is roughly the same on ever site. Go into your profile, and find the box where you edit your signature. Copy and paste the appropriate code for that website into the box and click 'Save' or 'OK' etc down the bottom of the profile.
Some websites only allow plain text in signatures, and in this case you will not be able to use your ticker. You may also find it doesn't work as some boards only allow a certain number of characters in their signature. If this is the case, you will need to remove some other text and/or images to fit your ticker.

I
copy and pasted the code but I am getting an error message/ticker does not work
The code you use depends on where you want to use your ticker. To see a list of sites using the tickers and what code to use, please click here. If you are using the wrong code, your ticker may not work or you will get 'left over' text.
The most common cause of error messages, such as 'Ticker Code Incorrect' is that you haven't copy and pasted the whole string of code. If you don't do this, it will break. Please also check your code for typos, as if some of the numbers or letters have been changed, your ticker won't work. You can get your code again by clicking "View Code" on the Ticker Edit page under "My Account".

I've tried all the codes and none of them work
Make sure that you have selected all of the code, and not just one part. If it still doesn't work please click here to check if the website or forum you're trying to use it on is here. If not, please contact us and send us the URL of the site (direct to the discussion board if that's where you're trying to use it.

The ticker is the wrong day
Please make sure you have entered the correct date on the ticker by going to our Ticker Edit Page . Especially with 'scrolly' mice it is easy to accidently select the wrong date.
We use the standard 40 weeks to work out our pregnancy dates, and so if you are using a different scale it will be out by a little bit.
Ticker Central is based in Australia, and so depending on where you are in the world, we can be up to 20 hours ahead of you. This will make your ticker show one day in advance until it is midnight in your part of the world. We hope to have GMT feature soon, and then you will be able to chose your timezone.

How do I add the ticker to my MSN Group?
If you own or manage an MSN group you can add the tickers to your welcome message, by clicking on 'Edit Welcome Message' and copy and pasting in the HTML code from the ticker result page. Add any other welcome text you want to display and click 'Save'. You can also use this method to add it to any other page using the 'Add a Page/Custom Web Page' link.
If you want to use your ticker in regular messages on MSN groups, just copy and paste the HTML code into the message. |
|
Why isn't my ticker counting down?
This can be caused by two things, image caching and not selecting the code. To clear out your cache, go to 'Tools', 'Internet Options' and chose 'Delete Files' (including offline content). You can also force a refresh of the page by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on the Refresh icon or press Ctrl-r on the keyboard.
Alternatively, if you just right clicked and 'Saved As' your ticker image rather than copying and pasting the code it won't tick. It is the code that makes the ticker move and saving the actual image onto your own computer will just result in a static ticker. |
|
Why aren't my old posts updating my ticker when I change it?
Some websites, depending on the forum software they use, don't update signatures in old posts and so you will find that your old posts have your old ticker in them. If you're on a website that updates their signatures when you change it, lucky you! You will always have your most up-to-date ticker in your signature.

My website's code isn't here

What code do I use on my favourite website?
You need to use the right code for the type of board or site that you're using the ticker on, or it won't show up or may look 'wrong'. To help you out we've listed the most common types below. If you can't get your ticker to work, please contact us and we can help. Please also let us know if your type of site isn't on the list.
phpBB and other BB Codes
This is for all the boards using phpBB and vBulletin, such as Kids n More, Parent World, and the She Knows Network.
HTML and email sigs
Use the HTML on your own website, in HTML email signatures (similar to incredimail), on 'blogs' or on any boards that have HTML switched on, such as Essential Baby. Some other boards will allow HTML so please ask the site owner if you are unsure.
ezBoard
ezBoards nearly all have www.ezboard.com in their address, however there are a few exceptions. If you're unsure as to whether the site you want to use your ticker on is an ezBoard, please ask the site owner.
BBboy
These are similar to phpBB boards except that they require the code to be in all capitals. If you're having trouble getting your code to work, try this one.
